Thanks for being here. If you’re new, it’s probably because you downloaded The Flower Festival Fling from Bookfunnel.
(Claps hands.) It’s spring and a lot is going on.
Does anyone else have old bathrobes across their bathroom window as makeshift window coverings? Just me?
We’re remodeling the house because that’s what sane people do in this economy, and my windows are being replaced this week. All our coverings are down. I tried a sheet, but it wouldn’t stay up, and I didn’t want the retired electrician who lives behind us to ogle my tatas when I step into my nightly bath. This is in addition to a new electrical panel, foundation repair, and an upcoming bathroom remodel, not because we care what our bathroom looks like, but because we have water issues and have to do it.
Gee, Tori, that sounds a lot like the plot of The Big Caulk?
Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes real life is the best inspiration, OK? Sadly, I’ve not had a contractor come through to give me a quote who looks like Colt. But the bathroom water issues are totally real.
Fun fact though, Hot Corey in The Pipe Cleaner was based on a plumber really named Corey that legit came to my house to fix my garbage disposal a couple years ago. I didn’t get bent over the couch, but my husband looked at him standing in my kitchen and then looked at me in slow motion like, “Stoooopppp.”
So, what have I been up to when I’m not dealing with non-sexy contractors?
The Sequal to Copper Preorder Up!
I wrote in November that you’re getting a sequel to Copper. Title and cover below, but if you’ve read Copper, you’ll know that Bang is one of Lucy’s coworkers at the club who was sucked into running “bad stuff” for one of the villains.
Turns out, she has a story in her, and I’m putting the finishing touches on it over the next month.
Ya’ll, I wrote my first dark book. As a rom com writer, it’s really hard for me to not put anything funny into a story, but I had some anger I needed to get out in a healthy way. Copper was romantic suspense, but the main couple was (mostly) sane and very loving with each other, regardless of the outside forces. I sat down to write a romantic suspense sequel and ended up with something completely out of my usual realm.

Bang/Cheryl is unhinged. She’s the baddie. It’s the vigilante justice every woman who has been wronged has ever wanted. I twist you around a little. Some of you will see it coming. Some won’t. Then, I have a slight additional twist at the end just when you think everything is settled. It does have a happy ending for Cheryl and Deputy Kyle Mitchell, though. Always.
But…
This book is dark outside of their relationship and even inside of it to a point.
Just how dark?
Content warnings: Masochism, a little blood play, extreme violence, torture of a piece of shit side character, implied castration, crime scenes, memories of sexual assault and abuse, and probably some I’m missing. Do not read this if you have SA trauma in your past unless their demise would be healing for you. And they…demise. Bad men are definitely dealt with in this world.
I tried to write this as a standalone. It did not happen. You should read Copper to understand some of it, or just accept that there are things that happened in the first book that may be mentioned.
For my rom com readers, don’t worry. I’m working on a rom com for you later this year.

Free until the 14th:
The Caretaker is free until the 14th, so grab it if you haven’t read it. Secret: It’s the first thing I ever published, even before Arson, although I wrote Arson first. The Caretaker is straight up erotica and follows a couple and the caretaker they hire to care for the wife’s ailing mother. Shenanigans ensue.
How many shenanigans?
Let’s just say that my husband still can’t eat orange popsicles without laughing and saying something douchey like, “Hey, Tooorrrri. I’m eating an orange popsicleeeeeee!”
It’s in KU with the three-book series if you prefer to read there. I appreciate the page reads!
What I Read in March:
I read a shit ton in March. Piper Rayne…a new favorite. I’ve been singing her praises for a couple months and finally read the last of her Christmas books. Here’s hoping she comes out with a new one for this holiday season. Yes, I also love cozy mysteries, so these show up quite a bit.
Pounded by Produce? If you’re wondering if that’s Veggie Tales porn, you’d be correct. One of my author friends posted about it in her newsletter, and I picked it up.
Sunrise on the Reaping is my second favorite of the Hunger Games series after the first one. If you’re on the fence about it, give it a try.
I hope you read something good in March and will read something awesome in April!
Happy reading!
